What is the anime Naruto about?

I'm not much into anime, but I saw a music video for Naruto, can anyone give me the gist of what the series is about without spoiling it? Just need a plot or synopsis. Thanks!

Naruto is about few young ninjas around 12 years old, they grew up in a same village, train together and do missions together. The anime mostly talks about cooperation, friendship, relationship, greed, selfishness and ninjas rank. They will go after a missing ninja in the anime and fight with some powerful enemies that would cost their life just to retrieve the missing ninja who is one of their friend.
